Itinerary
Kigali — Nyungwe Forest National Park
Depart Kigali at 5:00 AM by private 4×4. Drive 5–6 hours through Rwanda’s scenic southern highlands — tea plantations, rolling hills, rural villages. Arrive at Uwinka reception by 11:00 AM.
Canopy Walk & Zipline Adventure
Begin with the Igishigishigi Trail canopy walkway — 50 metres high and over 200 metres long, suspended in the treetops of one of Africa’s oldest montane rainforests. Walk among colobus monkeys, birds, and panoramic views. Follow with the zipline experience for an adrenaline rush through the canopy.
Waterfall Trail
Hike the trail to Kamiranzovu Waterfall, a stunning cascade deep in the forest. Learn about the park’s ecology, bird species, and endemic flora from your guide.
Return to Kigali
Depart Nyungwe by 3:00 PM, arrive back in Kigali by 8:00–9:00 PM.

Yes — the walkway is inspected daily and all visitors are secured with harnesses. Maximum 8 people at a time. Guides accompany every group.
How long is the drive from Kigali to Nyungwe?
5–6 hours by road (270 km). The route is paved and scenic, passing through tea plantations and Rwanda’s southern highlands.
What should I wear for the canopy walk and waterfall hike?
Closed walking shoes (forest floor is muddy), long trousers, rain jacket, and a hat. The walkway is elevated — avoid loose clothing.
Can I see chimpanzees on this day trip?
Chimpanzee trekking requires a separate 4:00 AM departure from Gisakura and a dedicated full day. On this tour, you may spot colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and birds along the trails.
