3 Days & 2 Nights Rwanda Gorilla Tour: Kigali – Volcanoes National Park

Experience the thrill of mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park, combined with a guided city tour of Kigali. This three-day adventure includes visits to historical and cultural sites, a full-day gorilla trek, and a farewell cultural evening. Enjoy full board accommodation and all essential safari services.

  • Pick up from the hotel on the day of the tour and drop off at the hotel at the end of the tour
  • Accommodation at hotels mentioned in the itinerary (full board basis at the lodge)
  • Private use of a 4x4 vehicle
  • Services of a professional, experienced English-speaking driver-guide
  • Bottled mineral water in the vehicle during the tour and 3 bottles of water each during treks (500ml)
  • 1 Gorilla permit per person (US$1500 for international guests)
  • All visits, activities, and extra meals mentioned in the itinerary
  • Emergency Medical Evacuation Services

  • International and domestic airline tickets (unless indicated)
  • Entry visa fees to Rwanda
  • Mandatory PCR test (at least 48 hours before primate trek, USD 50)
  • Optional extras whilst in Rwanda

  • Tips and gratuities for restaurant or lodge staff or driver-guide
  • Personal expenses such as telephone calls, mini bar, porter-age, travel insurance, etc.

Day 01 :
Day 1: Kigali – Volcanoes National Park
  • Pick up from your hotel.
  • 08:30: Guided city tour including the Rwanda Art Museum, Kigali Genocide Memorial, Inema Arts Gallery, and options for the Campaign Against Genocide Museum, a fashion house, or a local market.​
  • Lunch at Hotel de Mille Collins.
  • 15:00: Drive to Musanze & Volcanoes National Park region. Stop briefly en route for coffee or a toilet break.
  • Arrive in the evening, check in at the lodge.
  • Dinner and overnight stay (Classic Lodge: HB – Dinner, Bed & Breakfast).
Day 02 :
Volcanoes National Park (Gorilla Trek, People & Culture)
  • Early breakfast at the lodge.
  • 07:00: Gorilla trek briefing at the park headquarters.
  • 08:00: Transfer to the trailhead and start your guided walk.
  • After trek: Descend, return to the lodge for lunch and freshening up (including boot cleaning).
  • 15:30: Visit the Gorilla Guardians Village.
  • Return to the lodge. Evening at leisure, relax at the lounge foyer.
  • Farewell dinner with entertainment by cultural dancers.
  • Overnight stay (Classic Lodge: FB – Lunch, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast).
Day 03 :
Volcanoes National Park – Kigali – Depart
  • Breakfast at the lodge and settle extra expenses.
  • Check out at 08:30.
  • Set off for Kigali. Arrive in time for early lunch at Khana Kazana Restaurant or similar.
  • Transfer to Kigali International Airport.
  • Bid farewell to your driver-guide and proceed to check in for your outbound flight.
